Dental services are integral to your pet’s overall health. Common issues we may see include bad breath, plaque, gingivitis, periodontitis, or cracked and broken teeth. Some pets are more prone to dental problems than others and may require more care. We are equipped with a dental x-ray machine and our standard of care for dentals includes x-rays for each patient undergoing a dental. We do this prior to dental cleaning to check for any cracks or cavity issues we may not see otherwise.
We understand that each patient is unique and may require different care, which is why we offer cold laser therapy in addition to chemical options for pain management. K-Laser Therapy is an FDA cleared therapeutic treatment to manage pain and inflammation by increasing circulation to damaged areas. This type of treatment was cleared by the FDA in 2005 and uses red and near-infrared wavelengths of laser light to provide therapeutic and physiological effects such as increased circulation, reduced inflammation, and pain relief.
We have the capability to send our bloodwork to reference laboratories, such as IDEXX, as well as provide point of care testing in-house. Within minutes we can have results for a comprehensive blood panel that includes a chemistry, complete blood count, and electrolytes, and obtain results for a complete urinalysis through the use of our Sedivue. We routinely run fecal samples to check for intestinal parasites, and have tests for parvovirus, cortisol, progesterone, heartworms, and feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus.
Preventative care is essential to keep your pet healthy. We offer wellness exams, annual blood work, and a variety of preventatives to keep your pet healthy. Annual exams allow your veterinarian to diagnose and treat diseases that could become severe or costly without proper care.
Radiology is an important part of balanced care for a sick pet. Our team may use ultrasound or x-ray to diagnose foreign bodies, bloat, fractures, urinary stones, heart problems, or pyometras. Images can quickly be sent to other veterinarians and/or board-certified specialists and veterinary radiologists for review.
